Apparently you needed to register to attend, so if you didn't, perhaps a letter to your local paper & to DC to help counteract the pro-cuts reportage that will undoubtably follow.

Here's info from groups coordinating national response ("Social Security Works"/campaign for america's future) to help you compose your letters:

http://socialsecurity-works.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Overview_of_America_Speaks_Town_Halls_FINAL-PDF-version.pdf

The materials to be used in the meetings are rigged, as detailed here:

http://news.firedoglake.com/2010/06/24/blowback-progressive-groups-mounting-challenge-to-pete-peterson-social-security-cutters/

The push-back on this is ridiculous. The article above is from the 24th and:

"But at least MoveOn, among the largest progressive groups out there, is taking this on directly. I’m told the AFL-CIO will also pitch in. It was literally Nancy Altman, 20 bucks and a staff of about 2 a week ago."

I couldn't find anything specific on the Move On website about it. Everything looks like a last-minute job.

So write & phone DC.

Who want to gut Social Security and Medicare "for the kids!" gasp!sob!

Or who scream about "Socialists"

These meetings will serve to provide the same media impetus as was used with healthcare. Even though MOST Americans were for real reform and the public option, the non-stop media blitz over Tea Baggers and the terminally ignorant at rallies provided coverage to gut away.

So, how did people know in advance how to register? Are these pre-selected and screened audiances?

The very best thing to do is to counter rally outside these venus or alternately start holding Save our Social Security town halls.

The media blitz is on.

Our President is completely in on this effort.

I ask again - Who recalls him making ANY mention in the primaries or GE about a "bi-partisan" deficit cutting commission loaded with NeoCon privatizers whose only goal for years has been to roll-back Social Security and Medicare for the simple reason THEY WANT THAT MONEY

4. I'll try to get there.
Thanks for the heads up and especially the WR site link; their links opened a window for me to better see what's going on in my own backyard.

thanks to Portland indy Media and Joe Anybody, I did find this. 10 minutes long and it took awhile to load.

9. Trying again
I had noticed the video was tough and time consuming to load, perhaps why it was pulled.

Ran a test in preview mode, seems okay, hope it works better and holds.

Apologies.
