first bionic cat. Oscar will be that cat.

OK, maybe it wasn’t like a scene from “The Six Million Dollar Man” TV show. And it probably didn’t set the owners back quite that much money.

But still, Oscar a cat from the British Channel Isles managed to make feline history when doctors replaced his two hind legs, which were chopped off in a farming accident, with a bionic pair.

Two-and-a-half year old Oscar lost the legs when he was run over by a combine harvester last October — but now eight months later he has regained the spring in his step.

The prosthetic paws were fitted by neuro-orthopaedic surgeon Noel Fitzpatrick, in a three-hour operation involving grafting the replacement legs onto the stumps of Oscar’s remaining bones.

Seems like a happy ending.

1. I am very much a cat person, but those robo-legs freak me out
However, I could get over it if they also installed a little speaker that makes the "boiiiiing" sound every time he jumps.

6. 3 things. Maybe they're not finished. I'm sure he would prefer having those rather than being
put to sleep. He can run and jump. He'll also make an awesome LOLcat.

10. Watch this film:

Those nubs are more sophisticated than they look, and the film from the OP is Oscar taking his FIRST STEPS with his new limbs.

Check out the BBC video - once the kitty woke up from having his new legs put on, he immediately started walking around, started trying to jump - that was quite a thing!
