Hey fine DUer's, what Democratic Universe do we live in?
I don't get it.

How is it that a majority of national polls continue to place Hillary Clinton as the front-runner, when we see things so differently?

example of poll here:

http://www.pollingreport.com/wh08dem.htm

And in our cool corner of the universe on DU, and in my circle of DEM friends - HRC places at best as a 3d or 4th ranked choice. On DU, it seems with our zillions of polls she regularly does not draw more then 15% total support (that's a guess).

On DU anyway, it is well established that a significant majority of us to not prefer her as the DEM nominee (myself included). Yet the purpose of this OP is NOT to express those concerns again - we got it! My point here is to ponder that either we at DU live in our own unique DEM altered-universe; or the MSM (and their corporate buddies) are blowing a bunch of b.s. propaganda to the American people and in REALITY --- Obama and Edwards et. al. are doing much better than advertised! In other words, the true reality regarding HRC's popularity is much more reflective of what we represent here. One problem is if the MSM keeps preaching it, folks may actually start to believe it. Truth be damned.

Are we that different from the majority of self identified DEMS out there who say they prefer Hillary, or do we speak the truth and the MSM has not chosen to catch up with us?

Five more: More than a year out.

2. Smae here, none in my
circle are voting for her either.

Actually though I think it's because we are an educated bunch. After all how many of us were against the war from the start? We were in a small minority then now the country is with us. The list could go on and on on things we all said would/could happen and we were right. I don't mean to sound arrogant, I think it's just that we think about things more and get ourselves educated. A lot of congress people would do well hanging out here!

3. We tend to live in an echo chamber here, but
I think we are being sold a bill of goods, and I'm going to listen to the echos, besides which the election is too damn far out we have more pressing problems to take care of.

4. A lot of DU'ers show a proclivity for thinking for themselves and avoiding bandwagons.

9. Not necessarily
Some of the popular positions here are progressive, some aren't. DU is more radical than the average Democrat, and often more naive.

6. birds of a feather flock together
when I first came here I was a hill man myself but after reading about her in a little more in-depth I no longer actively support her. I would vote for her if she is the nominee but only if she is. one of the beauties of this place is if one wants one can learn a lot. just saying ;-)

that's why we come here.

My wife supported Joe f-ing Lieberman last primary season, until I showed her some DU threads with lotsa interesting facts about him.

Guess who she likes now?

yep. Hillary. I'm not going to piss on her excitement at the prospect of a woman prez, though.

10. So far, the 'top 3' have rubbed me the wrong way...
..with their military build-up cheerleading bullshit...KUCINICH and RICHARDSON is by far much better contenders for real change and right for the job.
