Just figured out how to win in Afghanistan...
Outsource. Strip mining, "mountaintop removal" to get at all those juicy assets

Just admit up front that the poor capitalist companies can't make a dime off the deal unless working folks in the U.S. pay for it.

Give Massey Energy Inc. 32 trillion US taxpayer dollars up front so they can hire Halliburton to provide the explosives, KBR to feed the Afghan workers who Massey will pay ten dollars US per day to denude their own country. That will leave Massey with a lot of money to pay off the tribal warlords to kill any of their own people who don't "get it."

If we really put our hearts and souls into it, we can make the mountainous terrain of that Islamic wasteland as flat as the Texas panhandle. There's not much water there to start with, so it'll be fairly easy to poison what little is there with mine tailings and rock infill. The Afghan people will finally and fully enjoy the freedom of free people in the US to die or move away if they have the temerity to protest the excess of freedom they enjoy. Massey will only take what is rightfully theirs in the name of loving Jesus.

Why waste nukes if we can get it just by hiring freedom-loving US companies who know how to make a dime off human misery and taxes on the working human (just don't regulate them, they'll take care of it all. Promise).

This is what we are.
