Neocons are SERIOUSLY freaked about the McChrystal story
I've been listening to a lot of conservative radio, lots of neocon guests commenting on the story, they are all in a deep funk. These guys are usually all full of themselves, throwing around all kinds of bravado, spinning everything that comes their way. But not now. They are not spinning this at all, they have nothing good to say about it. Listening to Max Boot for example, he sounded pale, he sounded like he was on the verge of puking.

I don't fully understand why this is such a big deal to them. I suspect they fear it means the end of the war. We can only hope.

5. 1+ and, hence, his cadre. We're talking militarists here who believe that the military should be
subject to NO ONE. That's an important thing for commanders to know.

7. Precisely. They want to say, in effect, it's about killing for the sake of killing, which is
the real/true nature of the military and why, therefore, it absolutely MUST be under civilian command.

To the public that appears hypocritical because we are told it's about killing for some high purpose. It never has been and actually cannot be so.

6. They don't know what Obama will do yet to be against it.
If they say "fire him" and Obama does, they can't spin it later that it was the wrong thing to do.

That's how they are.
