1. Third option...
While I hope it's true, I'm afraid the third choice should be that THEY ARE LYING.

5. I'm afraid I must vote third option as well...
I never believed a word they said. Never. Still don't. Why should we believe anything after all the confirmed lies?

8. Yeah. How many corners did they cut THIS time to be ahead of schedule?
Edited on Tue Jun-22-10 06:06 PM by breadandwine
The relief wells have blowout preventers. Anybody wanna take bets on how screwed up THEY are?

This is a company with an ingrained corporate culture of cost cutting, bullsh*tting and f*cking up while they go on yachts.

These people are all on booze, prozac and on VACATION.

I wouldn't be surprised if the relief wells don't work and that we later find out they would have except that BP was screwing around again.

These people all believe in the MAGIC OIL INDUSTRY THEORY ---

sit on your ass, cut corners at every turn and everything will work out fine by magic.

BP people are probably even lying to EACHOTHER about how many corners they cut to be ahead of schedule on the relief wells.

9. Hey guys - BP is not drilling the relief wells.
Transoceanic is. They have no intention of blowing this, no pun intended.

There is no way they can be "weeks" ahead of schedule. They have a 7 inch target to hit after drilling 18,000 feet through hard rock.

10. Well is at 15,936 as of yesterday (out of a target depth of 18,000 ft).
"Work on the first relief well, which started May 2, continues and has currently reached a measured depth of 15,936 feet. The second relief well, which started May 16, is at a measured depth of 10,000 feet. "

So it is entirely possible they are weeks ahead of schedule. I mean sometimes you do just get lucky.

11. Not really.
They closer they get, the slower they have to go. Less margin of error, the closer they get.
