What else can we add to the list?

3. why impeach the judge?
Edited on Tue Jun-22-10 02:33 PM by pitohui
the people of louisiana want to go back to work, and apparently it isn't politically possible for obama himself to back down on the drilling ban because there are people in 49 other states who want it banned and don't care if we go without jobs...the best way to get the ban overturned is to have this judge do it

obama is off the hot seat and we can get back down to business

that's just good poker

send the judge a box of good cigars and get back to work on better oversight/safety regulations that allow people to work and allow the industry to continue but with better safeguards...

meanwhile the "ban it" club can't blame obama, hey, tell it to the judge

7. Or LA could stop sucking the oil industry's rig and find other jobs that don't destroy
the rest of the local economy.

13. Well, if you are one of the ones here who can separate dream from reality, or legality,
then good for you.

Also, impeachment does not remove anyone, only conviction. Remember Bill Clinton?

He's heavily invested in drilling companies.

He should have recused himself from the case. He is directly profiting from his own decision.

20. OK, that I didn't know.
Still, is it even within a President's power to remove a judge from office because he doesn't like a ruling? I certainly hope not.

Just appeal the shit out of it.

22. Of course not ...

The process for impeaching a federal judge is clearly articulated in the Constitution, and the President plays no part in it.

16. You know for once ---- just one time---
I would like to see Obama kick somebody's ass...I think tho he shouldn't fire the general. Like one of the other poster's said. Demote and transfer him. That will be more embarrassing than firing. And I think he should also tell BP their actions are not satisfactory that they have one week to make progress or we will temporarily take control of the company.
