It's a slippery slope. In the five years I've been here, informal polls and member sentiment have placed the majority in the fairly far left. At the same time the reality is the party apparatus has moved further right.

Balancing the two can't/won't/shouldn't be easy.

I say this not on account of others flaming out of control, but on account of myself: it would've probably saved me a lot of useless flaming, wasted time, and some appropriate reminders from the Mods that I need to cool it. Upon reflection, I can't think of a single deleted message I've ever had that I didn't deserve to have deleted.

Bottom line, you make your case and either accept the result or you don't--and you have a choice to stay or go. It's a free country--you choose where to participate and engage.

You're right--there comes a point when the time for arguing is over. The endless re-hashing of differences is not productive. My sympathies are on both sides--but when the admins arrive at a resolution, that should be the end of it.

It seems to me that Skinner has bent over backwards to try to be fair. He won't please everyone, as that's not possible. As imperfect as the system is, it works. And the admins and mods continue to do amazingly well in difficult circumstances.
