Louisiana lawmakers propose prayer to stop oil disaster
i think god is probably pretty damned pissed....

(CNN) -- While cleanup crews and technical teams continue efforts to stop crude gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana lawmakers are proposing a different approach: prayer.

State senators designated Sunday as a day for citizens to ask for God's help dealing with the oil disaster.

"Thus far efforts made by mortals to try to solve the crisis have been to no avail," state Sen. Robert Adley said in a statement released after last week's unanimous vote for the day of prayer. "It is clearly time for a miracle for us."

The resolution names Sunday as a statewide day of prayer in Louisiana and calls on people of all religions throughout the Gulf Coast "to pray for an end to this environmental emergency, sparing us all from the destruction of both culture and livelihood."

Also Sunday, wildlife officials were planning to transport and release 40 pelicans that rescuers rehabilitated after finding them covered with oil. The birds will be moved from New Orleans, Louisiana, to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in Port Aransas, Texas.

5. And if it keeps gushing does that mean there is no god??
So they pass this resolution and god does not answer does that mean
he does not care and we then can say we are not a nation under god??

So are the law makers saying that they have screwed things up so bad that
they can not fix anything and they really do need a miracle??

I shake my head and wonder where these people lost their minds.............

6. Why the need for 'prayer' ?
If the Christer God (that being the one I expect Louisianans would 'pray' to) exists He already knows about it all already. Fact is, being all-powerful, He either allowed or directly caused it to happen (Why? That I do not know - God works in mysterious ways).

Knows He too how the 'small people' feel about it, and (obviously) He has decided not to do anything to stop it ... or does He just like to see enough people groveling on their knees before He will do anything to help out?

Weird Dude He.

Not as weird though as those who believe in and 'worship' this creation of their own insecurity.
