somebody's playing the bagpipes
a few streets over. off and on I hear them. must be outside its loud, very beautiful
and sad. went for a walk towards the music, other neighbors walking dogs, we stopped and listened together.

The headlines/news horrific. those little toddlers, why, what did they do to die like that. that family. and that state trooper killed by the drunken driver. that woman killed those people in Atlanta charged last week with killing her brother 20 years ago.

why can't we put our resources everything we can into awareness of mental illness, substance abuse. recognizing the symptoms, breaking down the stigma. can we ever do that or are we too isolated too proud, too scared.

he's playing the bagpipes again

1. Bagpipes are one of the saddest sounding instruments...
I love them anyway.

The only song in which they don't sound melancholy is "It's a Long Way To The Top" by AC/DC

3. A man plays the bagpipes every Sunday at sunset by the edge of the Gulf behind my home
it is beautiful...but now our Gulf is being destroyed..this man has played the bag pipes for the 12 years I have owned my Gulf front home.

It is beautiful with the sunset over the water and him playing with the Orange sun surrounding him..reflecting from the water..

he ofetn plays Danny Boy...
