How come Obama hasn't abused this power as well?

1. Because Barack Obama is not George W. Bush.

However, the President has used signing statements. He uses them in the traditional way, explaining in them how the laws may be implemented. He has not used them to counteract the intention of the law, because again, despite all which has been claimed, this man is nothing like George W. Bush.
