GRAPHIC VIDEO: Man Gets Pinned By Train As Crowd 'Jockeys' To See

More people will be heeding those "Don't Run" signs in the subway after seeing this video.

Around midnight Wednesday an allegedly inebriated passenger slipped between the subway platform and a D train as it was pulling into the Grand Street Station.

The unidentified man had his leg pinned and twisted before the train could come to a stop.

One passenger described the nightmarish scene to the Huffington Post:

People walking out of the train saw the pinned man immediately to the left of the subway car I was riding in. Within thirty seconds a crowd had formed, both inside and outside of the car the man was trapped by, and every other person whipped out their cellphones and started taking pictures and video while the guy writhed around. The injuries looked far worse at the time than they turned out to be, and the impact was strong enough to knock me out of my seat on the train. A woman started yelling at the crowd to put their camera away because of how garish the scene was, and a few people snapped out of it and slinked away, but most did not, and more people came up and jockeyed for position around the injured man every second. People were lined up the stairs for a better viewing angle.

WPIX and ABC 7 both obtained cell phone footage of the incident from another passenger.

The man was eventually freed and taken to Bellevue Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

1. Just another variation on the old bread and circuses meme...
I am sick to hear this, but not especially surprised.

We slow down to see the wreck on the freeway...

This is not much different, alas...

2. In my 20s, I was the third car in a 3 car pileup on 101 in San Mateo
The woman at the front, who caused the accident, STOPPED in the slow lane to let oncoming traffic out.

I totaled my car and luckily escaped with a nosebleed and a bad case of nerves.

As I stood on the side of the road, bleeding, a car pulled by with a 30-something white couple. They pointed at the crumpled cars and disoriented drivers and laughed. I wanted to gut them like a couple of fish.

Human nature...whatta rush.

6. When I was younger, in high school, I was hitchhiking home one afternoon....

..,(my car broke down)....anyway, this car pulled ahead of me and I thought.."Great, a Ride!".
The two guys and two girls in the car thought it was hilarious when the passenger side dude threw a coke bottle at me, hitting me in the face and then hauled ass...leaving me on the side of the road bleeding.

Unfortunately..for them... 3 of my buddies were about 1/2 block away in their car, and came screeching to a stop, picked me up and followed the sons-a bitches to a store.. I think Sears.

I won't tell the details but my Fists were sore for a week afterwords and I seriously doubt that the punks were able to drive for about the same time period. :) :)

PS..I DO remember saying....(after we ah...punished them) "What's wrong?..arn't you gonna' laugh some more?? :)

ON EDIT: No ..We didn't touch the Girls...that would not have been cool or sane.

7. When I got stabbed
Lots of people gathered around to gawk while I was bleeding profusely. I ignored them at the time but got really pissed off about it after I found out I was going to be fine. I bet if the people knew I had aids they wouldn't have shouldered in so close to me.

8. Sometimes people are just complete assholes
and these stories are proof.

Lucky this guy was OK, or video of his gory death would probably be all over the place. Did any of these bozos stop to help? No.
