Utah Gov. Twitters he approved prisoner execution...
Edited on Fri Jun-18-10 02:23 PM by Green_Lantern
This is total glorification of execution. Proof that the Governor has no respect for the state's power to decide to end someone's life.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37782957/ns/technology_and_science-tech_and_gadgets/">Comments about the execution of a prisoner — "I just gave the go ahead"— by Utah's attorney general on Twitter were generating lots of comments by others on the microblogging site and in the world of social media. Lots of outrageous things are said and shared on Twitter, which limits posts to 140 characters. But those by Utah attorney general Mark Shurtleff seemed to strike some as inappropriate, and even macabre. "A solemn day. Barring a stay by Sup Ct, & with my final nod, Utah will use most extreme power & execute a killer. Mourn his victims. Justice," was Shurtleff's tweet, about an hour before midnight when Ronnie Lee Gardner was placed before a firing squad. Then, within an hour, Shurtleff tweeted: "I just gave the go ahead to Corrections Director to proceed with Gardner's execution. May God grant him the mercy he denied his victims."

He should be impeached for this...announcing this on a personal webpage.

3. All the dignity and majesty it deserves, I guess
After all, you have a bunch of yahoos sharpshooters firing away at their victim, trussed tighter than a Thanksgiving turkey. If you're going to call that "justice," then I guess a social networking internet site is just the place for announcing it. Next time there should be a swimsuit competition.

5. yeah this is one reason I don't like execution...
It's too easy to not see the taking the life of a person seriously when they've committed a gruesome murder.

It caters too much to human anger and rage.
