If the GOP gains control of the House in November Barton would be charge of he oil industry?
:wtf:

This in an email from the DNC:

Yesterday, Republican Congressman Joe Barton, the top Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, issued an outrageous personal apology to BP and slammed the President for his efforts to hold them accountable.

Worse, if the GOP wins back the House, Barton is the guy who could be in charge of regulating the oil industry.

Think about it: In the Gulf right now, jobs are being lost, ecosystems are being destroyed, an entire way of life is being upended. And Joe Barton is apologizing to the oil company that caused the disaster.

We're whipping together an ad as fast as possible to make sure voters know exactly whose side Barton and the GOP are on and to demand they stop apologizing to big oil, but we need your help to get it on the air.

If you're as furious as I am, will you chip in $5 to help us fight back?

Vote for and support Democratic candidates in your area and more. We must not give the nation back to the GOBP. If you don't support Democrats, you can't call yourself a liberal. If you don't support Democrats, you support Republicans. It is just that simple.

3. The GOP won't take control of the House. However, I do see them winning a few more House and Senate
seats than they lose, meaning Congress will shift slightly to the right.

That will make passing liberal legislation even more difficult than it has been for the past 18 months.

4. Republicans will take back control of the House- Republicans did a pre-run in S Carolina this month
Edited on Fri Jun-18-10 02:35 PM by GreenTea
"South Carolina voters testified that they had trouble selecting Democratic candidate Vic Rawl on the ES&S iVotronic touch-screen systems, and that their votes were flipped to Greene. Campaign workers testified that they received calls all throughout Election Day concerning problems with the machines and reports that poll-workers were swapping out sensitive memory cartridges.

Despite the historical record of failure of the ES&S voting system, and numerous state-sponsored studies (in state's other than SC) which all found that the systems are poorly coded and exceptionally vulnerable to malicious manipulation, Rawl's team of computer scientists were not allowed access to the voting system hardware and software in order to examine it for bugs or tampering".

So it'll be a cake walk for South Carolina republican Jim DeMint this November.

There was no way to verify the votes - Same old story, NO paper trail. Democrats refuse to believe there are any problems what so ever, though nothing has been done since since the 2000 election even though they have the power to do something and could rid of the republican written & passed, bullshit 2002 Help America Vote Act (HAVA).

This is the republicans plan for November - Republicans don't need to do it everywhere, a stolen seat here or there - A stolen seat counts exactly the same in smaller states, as they do in large states, they will steal races in many races across the country, their plan is to just do it!

I mean they did it in Florida and Ohio in presidential elections as well as many small elections. (Even Governor in Alabama, Senate & Governor in GA and many, many House races) - The republicans certainly know can do it in races around the country and gain control of congress again.

The republican will and NOTHING is stopping them from stealing it....Can you name a single thing or person that's trying to stop them? So why not....they might as well steal it - No ones gonna believe it anyway....even though the republicans have done it over & over again.

That's the reason why the republicans are so confident, they know and are just saying NO without any worries what so ever, obstructionist on everything just trying to keep their image with their important voting base, they'll get them out to vote. - They know no matter what it's in the bag - they will steal it and no one will believe otherwise - there will be every republican every republican talking head and crowds of cheering republicans say it was a uprising and it had nothing to do with the machines - BULLSHIT - And we Dems will be fucked again!

And the republicans are getting the media all primed & ready that they are going to take back the congress, no doubt about it.....and that will be the story - not the many suspicious races across the country of obvious machine tampering - republicans will simply all agree that it's just sour grapes on the Dems part and the media will never air the machine tampering stories....Just go with the republican line that Americans are tired of Obama and the Democratic party and that's was their plan.

The republicans are working on it each and every day and Karl Rove is a big part of it, he's a master and they know what seats they can & will steal - It's NOT really hard to do when you have no opposition trying to stop you from doing it.

Sadly as always, the frightened Dems have their heads in the sand....and we will be the ones paying for it with a republican congress turning back everything we fought for....all because the Dems are too terrified to bring it up and do something about it.

7. Boehner asked him today to resign is seat on the committee - knowing, no
doubt, that this very possibility would hurt the number of votes they could get. We'll see what happens.
