Sarah Palin's Oil Regulation Lies: She's no energy expert, she's no expert in anything..
great article..wish he'd hurry up with the book..

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/geoffrey-dunn/sarah-palins-oil-regulati_b_616724.html

Perhaps the biggest joke being fobbed by Palin to the American public is that she is some sort of expert on energy issues. Sarah Palin isn't an expert on anything -- remember that this is a woman who didn't know the difference between England and Great Britain as she began her not-so-celebrated run for the vice-presidency -- and who quit her governorship after two-and-a-half years of failed leadership and being found guilty of "abuse of power" in the Last Frontier. It's all smoke and mirrors. She is fed a series of talking points by her advisers before each of her punditry appearances and then dishes them out in what my friends in Alaska have dubbed "word salads" -- without the dressing.

As Andrew Halcro, the bright and witty Anchorage based businessman who ran against Palin for governor in 2006, wrote me yesterday: "Listening to Sarah Palin lecture on the oil-and-gas industry is like listening to Bernie Madoff talk about safe investing; zero credibility."

Remember, Halcro is someone from Palin's own party in Alaska. Indeed, Palin's mishandling of Alaska's natural gas and oil reserves in the Last Frontier turned nearly all interested parties against her by the time of her resignation -- from oil producers to environmentalists alike. Americans will recall her speech at the Republican National convention in which she claimed that "we began" to build a $40-billion natural gas pipeline "to help lead America to energy independence." Only there was and is no pipeline. It has never been built. If it's ever built, it will be constructed not because of Palin but in spite of her.

<..snip>

Watch Palin's performance on O'Reilly closely. There is a deep inner anger boiling beneath the surface with every phrase she recites. Forget about the laughter of the Dutch and dikes. Her smiles are forced and contrived. Each response is uttered in odd, staccatoed cadences, as though someone has pulled the string on a talking doll. Palin's currency in American politics is not her expertise on energy resources -- it's her inner rage. And those who share it with her tap into that common anger and see her as their leader. It is as ugly as it is dangerous.

Palin's pretentions and duplicities would all be a joke if the potential political implications were not now so serious. Sarah Palin is clearly positioning herself for a run at the presidency in 2012. Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply fooling themselves. My sources in Wasilla have assured me that Palin fully believes that "God has opened the door for her." With every Facebook lie she posts, with every Fox News distortion she spews, she is trying to reconstruct her tarnished image as an expert in resource production and foreign affairs. P.T. Barnum may have been right that there is a sucker born in America every minute. Sarah Palin is now their ring leader.

2. She's an expert on self-promotion
And maybe now the Palinistas will start figuring that out.

5. Not a chance
Her self-promoting ways are a feature for them, not a bug. Her cluelessness is something they identify with, and the word salad gibberish she spouts reminds me of an early "Bloom County" comic strip where the guy comes into the newspaper office to submit a letter to the editor. He jabbers some incomprehensible crap using buzzwords and soundbites and concludes, "Anyways it's all right there in my letter." Milo looks at it and says, "Verbatim."

3. I fear for America when I consider Palin in 2012
I fear that Americans will be denied some brilliant Tina Fey performances, Rachel Maddow opinion pieces, and classic misspelled signs by her supporters if she doesn't run. I give her about as much chance right now as Mike Gravel had. If anything, she might provide a third party spoiler against Romney or whomever the repubs offer up.

4. Well, she's done a bangup job of fucking up her kids
and she's great about being the center of attention, wherever she goes, whatever she's supposed to be doing.

The silly cow is only going to fool the absolute stupidest people in this country. Alas, there do seem to be a lot of them, although even they realize she's not suitable for elected office.

6. The only thing Palin is an expert in is
transferring from one college to another.

She doesn't have the attention span to become an expert in anything.

7. At the risk of sounding..
like a bagger (when they yell about Obama) I would really be scared if she ever won the Presidency. Scared for our country scared for everyone that doesn't "walk the Palin line" she doesn't like dissent. She seems very petty and vindictive.

She's far too anxious for the end of times. Her arrogance and thinking she's always right would have us in more wars than we'd know what to do with. She would destroy this country. Look at how she was when she was running with McCain, she didn't want to listen to anyone. No one would be able to advise her, it's her way or no way.

9. A dog doesn't know that it can't read. (I hope the comparison isn't an insult to the species.)
People with limited abilities don't know what they don't know and there appear to be a lot of them around anymore.

If encouraged, they CAN develop their knowledge and understanding as far as it can go, but only to a certain extent; just like the color blind, many will never be able to understand some things.

They now have a hero in sp, so of course, because of their limitations, this IS absolutely about Anger.

14. well said
It is the same way that Reagan and W Bush connected with the people who fell for their line. All 3 were not particularly astute but they connect through emotion and negative personality traits, namely anger and arrogance. They tap easy, primitive feelings in people, the desire for pleasure, the desire to forgo hard work, and the desire to blame others for their problems rather than to have to look at how their behaviors are adding to their problems.

It is the same way that cult leaders reach their victims.

going to have a chapter on her and her Einstein brain. You know with every thing she is an expert on she would put Stephen Hawkins to shame.

12. Her 'three legged stool' energy talking point was so contrived and rehearsed

It made me write this.

Its like listening to a three legged stool
and I don't mean the kind of stool you sit on
but the one that comes out while sitting

15. She thinks that her reputation in Alaska won't be publicized?
It WILL make a difference when it is.

And yes, her seething anger is a form of aphrodisiac to her followers. They too have it. They simultaneously want to protect her and ask her to protect them from "the other".

18. The inner rage is a good point.
I'd mostly focused on her idiocy, but I've been noticing lately how many still photos of her taken while she's talking catch her in a moment where she looks very angry and hateful.

19. Leading The 20% Of The 30%...
Mooselini is a media creation who knows how to play them and in return they shower her with tons of PR. As a good grifter (Tawd is truly the master here), they turn it into money...and in our screwed up culture the more money you have the more "credible" it makes you. At least in the corporate media world where they're always trying to keep score.

Look under the GOOPy hood and Bible Spice is still polling around 20% of rushpublicans in their 2012 wish list. She gets 90% of the promotion but her base hasn't grown and she's providing a lot of ammo for her political enemies who right now are holding their fire, raising the watching where the tea baggers end up. Their bets (as is most of ours) is we'll see them crash and burn in November and with it Grifterella's popularity could take a hit as well.

I still hope this harpie emerges as the front runner in 2012...that would indicate the GOOP has totally gone off the abyss with little hopes of redemption. Remember, it was she who cost McCain at least 5 or more points in the '08 election...she's politically toxic.
