Cuba Now Bracing for Oil Slick Touchdown
http://www.energyboom.com/policy/cuba-now-bracing-oil-slick-touchdown

If you've ever been to Cuba, you will know that it is has some of the most breathtaking white sand beaches that stretch for miles in both directions.

You will also know that past the tourists that come to those beaches, there is very little else to sustain the local economy.

According to an article just published in the Guardian, Cuban authorities have brought in experts to begin planning how they will deal with the BP Gulf of Mexico Oil Slick that is slowly moving South East towards the island nation.

Along with its white sand beaches, Cuba is home to many species of bird, fish and mammals including the endangered manatee.

Since the Cold War began, Cuba has been in a diplomatic gridlock with the United States, making it difficult to know how the two countries will work together to deal with the disaster. At this point, Cuba is bringing in experts from Venezuela - an oil rich nation very familiar in dealing with oil disaster containment and clean-up operations.

3. I wonder...
Does Cuba have any of them there 'small people' that BP cares about?

And will Cuba, if it gets harmed, be able to share in the BP 'shakedown'?
