Today the blog went over 5,000 views. This in just two and a half months.

I have a friend who does the blog thing for clients and he assures me that this is very good for a blog that is long on prose and short on snazzy graphics.

I was always wondering if I would do if I wrote a blog and nobody came.

Well, I don't have to worry about that.

I would still write the damn thing if no one showed up but having people who actually read it and then comment about it publicly and privately is a real motivating factor.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart and from what's left of my lungs.

Over the years people would ask me why I was so wrapped up with DU, what was the big attraction?

Well, now I can tell them that it is a supporting community of mostly like-minded people who come together and share their lives with others. That is a bond that is hard to make in this ever compartmentalized world of ours...

Again, thank you for being there for me.

I hope I have been, on occasion, there for you as well...

I really don't know how you do it all, especially with all the medical requirements and schedules. However you manage it, keep up the good work and keep the reports coming.

4. I'm ashamed to say that I had not visited your site until now.

I do apologize for not taking note of it before.

I just added it to my favorites so that I won't forget to check in on a regular basis.

The Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Cosgrove saved the life of my wife 13 years ago and I will never go a day without reminding myself of that.

You have added a lot to this site so I would say that DU received more than you know. Most of the people here are caring, generous and thoughtful human beings. Without a doubt, you are included among that group.

6. I enjoyed reading your blog.

My father and grandfather were alcoholics. I quit smoking 14 years ago this coming September. But I still drink wine.

I like to make people laugh as well...some say it comes from having a melancholy personality.

I look around today and say...'Shit, if you're not depressed, you aren't paying attention.'
