"Small People"
So Horst Whatever-His-Name-Is spoke poorly (in an American context), but with good intent.

The *real* small people are the mediamotherfuckers who keep flogging this story.

(No, I am not defending BP. I am calling out the media for the penchant for their constant misdirection away from the real news.)

2. The guy should have kept his mouth shut. It was obvious he was talking thru his ass.
In a way, I'm glad he did say it because it shows how arrogant these oil companies are and any RWinger caught "defending" them is gonna look pretty bad.

The fact that he didn't have people around him who could advise him more properly is further proof that these people are uncaring monsters. They just don't give a shit what happens...and everyone around them is an ass kisser who don't get it...

5. Failure to see innate discrimination is a hallmark

of institutionalized discrimination.

Even if a person takes the most benign interpretation, and accepts that the statement meant that BP intends to protect "the little guy," you cannot escape the reality that the Chair of BP sees the world as divided into "BIG GUYS" and "little guys," that is classist--THAT is anathema.

In the world of progressive ideals where CLASS orientation is seen as VERY BAD, that is VERY BAD.
