Political quiz - how liberal or conservative are you?
I got:

Overall: 5% Conservative, 95% Liberal

Social Issues: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Defense and Crime: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

I think the 25% on D&C was because I answered some people really do seem less lucky. I answered the death penalty is a violation of human rights even though I'm ok with it in countries that don't have the protective infrastructure that we have. I assume they were talking about the DP in the U.S. How do you score?

8. I felt there weren't enough shades of gray in the poll
But it was interesting to see me pick a side. I'm almost 100% pro-choice, and for a DEGREE of Affirmative Action. Also, in some ways we need to watch the border more, and in other ways we need to make it easier for some illegal immigrants to become citizens.

9. There's a huge difference between supporting immigration and having open borders and open employment
The unprecedented number of illegal aliens crossing the borders harms those most with the very least - the working poor. The cancer of ownership entitlements is appalling. The U.S. has the most liberal immigration policies of any nation in the world by far ... but the whole notion of a workforce without voting rights and/or existing outside the law is repellent to me.

11. In some towns, like Bridgeport in PA, immigration laws..
are becoming quite tough, putting penalties on the businesses that hire them. I'm not for unfettered immigration, but neither am I for Bush's solution.

14. that's where the most severe penalties belong
is on the business and wealthy business owners who clean up by exploiting illegal labor. But, you will never see much serious effort on the part of the repigs to hold their precious priveleged class accountable for this or anything else.

They love to preach their precious "supply and demand" economics. Well, if they would make a serious effort to quell the demand, the supply would stop crossing the border since there would no longer be anything here to cross it for.

15. It's a complete ban that seems to be doing more..
harm than good to the community. It just drives out all illegals and they go to another town. I agree that the focus should be most on businesses, but even there it's not always clear.

38. It is a bullshit quiz, like many quizzes out there it is designed to make people think they are cons
They use moderate, watered down conservative positions that sound reasonable and contrast them with the extreme left position.

Plus, I may just be casting asparagus here, but the repeated akashins of misspelled words should have been a big tipoff.

A few items were less relevant to Britain than America, of course, though I could usually 'translate' (e.g. 'revoke NCLB' into 'get rid of all the league tables and OFSTED inspections').

there are people who are unlucky. There was a guy I deposed, I swear, you did not want to buy lottery tix or cross the street when he was nearby. He had 14 industrial accidents over the years, one time, well, this was a doozy.

He was working on the John Hancock building in Chicago. He was carrying a sheet of plywood to cover a hole while they were building it. A gust of wind picked him and the sheet up and blew him out of the 63 story, and blew him back in the 61st story, breaking three of his ribs.
