Home in Anaheim, Calif. murder-suicide was in foreclosure
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 11:36 PM by Bluebear
ANAHEIM, Calif. – A man who shot his wife to death and critically wounded his 3-year-old son before killing himself had money troubles and the family home was in foreclosure, police said Tuesday.

Money problems — and marital troubles that may have stemmed from Wayne Zickefoose's financial situation — were being investigated as possible motives in Sunday night's shootings, Sgt. Rick Martinez said.

Foreclosure "could have been the issue," he said.

The 3-year-old boy, who hid behind a trash can in the backyard for more than 12 hours before he was rescued  Monday, was in critical but stable condition Tuesday after being treated for at least three wounds to his hip, shoulder and torso, Martinez said.

4. It's called despair in this new American age.
This modern American tale is not uncommon, as people are driven to this because they have no hope, no prospects. And often will take their children "with them".

7. It's a particular psychological phenomenon called "Family Annihilators"
Someone (almost always male) who can't deal with his life, and can't conceive of his family continuing without him, so he kills everyone before killing himself. Usually over financial matters.

Sad.

3. I would be sympathetic if he killed himself ONLY
but there's no excuse to include family members.

5. Oh I don't know if sympathy is what's necessary....
just a hope that things finally get better, for everybody. :(
