8. Better not be anything oil industry OR Wall $treet related.
The one oil industry exception I would make would be Citgo. At least I know they would handle it fairly, and pay out the fishermen, shrimpers, and other working class victims of this BP assault first.

11. Oh, I'm not sure either, but when I heard Obama say he was going to make BP
start a fund that will be administrated by an unbiased third party, I got to wondering who that unbiased corporation would be.

Obama must have some corporation in mind, no?

12. Don't federal courts have to "make BP start a fund", not a president? n/t

13. Maybe, but...
Find me even one A-List talking head who's ranting that "the federal courts need to take a stand because this spill is their Katrina."

14. I don't listen to "A-List talking head". Federal courts can not comment because that's not the way
our legal system operates.

15. I know.
But thanks to the way the court of public opinion operates, the Corporate echo chamber has been screaming for Obama to hold BP accountable, in effect trying to maneuver him into an untenable position. If he oversteps his Executive authority, they'll pounce on him for his attempt at a power-grab.

You might not listen to "A-List talking heads," and I sure as hell don't credit 99% of what they say, but it's foolish to ignore them altogether, doing so cuts you off from the ugly truth about how the game operates.

I know what you mean--when a story breaks, I generally turn to DU before trying to sift through the bullshit of corporate media.
