Meg Whitman Allegedly Shoved Employee with $200,000 Worth of Anger
Meg Whitman Allegedly Shoved Employee with $200,000 Worth of Anger

by Juli Weiner June 15, 2010, 10:30 AM

In June 2007, former eBay C.E.O. and current California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman became violent with an eBay employee who did not sufficiently prepare her for an interview with Reuters to take place on Second Life. The physical altercation was very much corporeal, not computer-based. The survivor, Young Mi Kim, threatened to sue Whitman, but the two avoided a lawsuit by hiring a private mediator. The Buy It Now™ settlement cost? $200,000.

Reports The New York Times: “Ms. Kim later told at least one colleague that Ms. Whitman used an expletive and shoved her. According to one of the eBay employees knowledgeable about Ms. Whitman’s version of the incident, Ms. Whitman said that she had physically guided Ms. Kim out of the conference room.” It goes without saying that Kim still works at eBay. And Whitman, should she win the election, will join a storied lineage of California governors with boundary issues. In 2003, current governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has been accused of sexual harassment by no less than seven women.

1. it is only anger if you are a little person
people like her, who can afford to pay 200k in settlements, don't display anger... it was a teachable moment, you see.

5. She's been described as "a demanding leader who did not hesitate to express displeasure"
Settlement Was Paid in Whitman Shoving Incident

The rest of us would be accused of having anger-control issues...and we'd be in jail.

I'd let Meg run over my hand with an Abrams tank if I could get $200,000 out of it!

4. Sounds like the judge that hit me in the head with a rolled up piece of paper.
I couldn't have gotten rid of her anyway. Everybody at the courthouse hates her because she has an attitude problem. No prosecutor, clerk, court reporter, or deputy is ever good enough for her.

She is now the elected district attorney of Harris County and her name is Pat Lykos.

She's destroyed numerous careers, and she tried to destroy mine.

6. It never surprises me how these folks rise up in the ranks...
I used to have respect for leaders in the business, corporate, government, academic, etc., worlds, but as I live each year, I see stupid, incompetent, nasty people in high positions. And it never fails to surprise me anymore.
