Alabama (GOPer)Rick Barber Calls On Americans To Gather Their Armies Against Taxes And The President
Alabama Republican congressional candidate Rick Barber is encouraging his fellow tea party activists to “gather your armies” against President Barack Obama — with a campaign ad that twice shows a hand fidgeting next to a Revolutionary War-era pistol.

In the new ad, Barber is seen sitting around the table with actors playing George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Sam Adams.

The ad opens with a shot of the pistol sitting on a table and Barber saying he would “impeach” Obama.

“Today we have an Internal Revenue Service that enforces what they call a ‘progressive’ income tax,” Barber tells the assembled Revolutionary heroes in what appears to be an empty bar.

As the camera pans toward the gun again, Barber says: “Now this same IRS is going to force us to buy health insurance, cram it down our throats or else.” Pointing to a copy of the Constitution, Barber says, “Now, I took an oath to defend that with my life, and I can’t stand by while these evils are perpetrated.”

“You, gentlemen, revolted over a tea tax! A tea tax! Now look at us,” he says before asking “Are you with me?”

The camera then turns to Washington, who says, “Gather your armies.”

Barber recently secured a spot in a July 13 runoff against Martha Roby, the winner of which will take on incumbent Rep. Bobby Bright (D-Ala.).

1. Their violent hyperbold is dangerous.
Just wait until someone gets hurt. Then, somehow, they'll blame us.

These people are unbalanced and dangerous.

2. What is surprising to me is that this guy thinks this kind of talk will get him elected

He must believe the line that Fox and Limbaugh keep pushing of that most Americans are just like them. A nation of bigoted right wingnuts.

8. People have already been hurt by this nonsense
Such as innocent parishoners at a Unitarian Church, Dr. Tiller, three police officers in Pittsburgh, and a guard at the Holocaust Museum, among others.

9. Good point. You are correct.
And this rhetoric also leads to the bombing of women's clinics and of Federal Buildings.

4. Oh noes! Paying for what you get!
Old Rick is ready to start shooting because someone wants him to pay for what he gets. But when George W. Bush and his merry band were dumping all over the constitution he took an oath to defend? Rick is curiously silent in the face of torture, covert surveillance, and illegal invasions. The casual observer might almost think he's some kind of lunatic hypocrite.

5. Wait! Wait! Wait! It just hit me!
He is against any government involvement in health care, so he runs for office where he can take a job that offers... *say it with me, boys and girls*... a government run health care plan!

The crazy, it is strong with this one.

7. They won't stop until they see blood. THEY are dimwitted traitors.
They want to kill but they are worshipping their holy corporations and their godly CEOs. I don't see capitalism stepping in to help anyone affected by BP's disaster. In fact they have deliberately lied BEFORE the rig explosion and AFTER the Gulf disaster. Why aren't those fake right wing self-professed patriots venting their anger at the true evil in our country, corporations and the capitalism they worship? Right wingers are the stupidest humans to ever walk on this planet. They are addicted to hatred, rage, racism and fear. They are not capable of reason or rational thought.
