Tony Hayward called to White House, Congress over Gulf leak
Edited on Mon Jun-14-10 03:15 PM by cal04
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/2010/06/14/2010-06-14_obama_to_go_after_bp_executives_this_week_in_oval_office_speech_meeting_at_white.html

Looks like President Obama will finally get an "ass to kick" over the BP oil leak.

The President, who will address the nation from the Oval Office after returning from his visit to the Gulf, will sit down with BP CEO Tony Hayward and the Chairman of BP's Board, Cal-Henric Svanberg on Wednesday.

Though BP has stated the executives "look forward to meeting with the administration," they shouldn't expect a cordial chat. Obama has given the company multiple public tongue-lashings since the oil spill began, and has said Hayward “wouldn’t be working for me" based on his handling of the disaster.

The face-to-face meeting is scheduled to come during the middle of yet another bad week for BP.

Then on Wednesday Obama is meeting for the first time with BP executives, probably including the company's much-criticized CEO, Tony Hayward. Later in the week, company officials will have to face Congress in hearings on the spill.

1. Meeting scheduled, but somehow I have my doubts
I'm guessing that Tony would really like to go up to DC and see the Prez and Congress and everything, but darn it all! He has to wash his hair, and couldn't possibly make it. How's Tuesday look for ya? Good? Oh wait; an emergency cable here says Tony's grandmother is feeling poorly. Can we reschedule?
