PEMBROKE —

The “commentary” columnists are at it again.

Ann McFeatters in your May 24 edition criticizes the tea party on a variety of subjects from immigration to education and gun control, to environmental issues.

She questions what the tea party means by “change.”

In your June 1 issue, Reg Henry calls the tea party members pseudo-populists, but then goes on to call them corporationalists.

He cites a New York Times/CBS poll that claims tea party “people are better off and more educated than the general public.” Henry sums it up inferring the movement is un-American.

1. I am no columnist but my definition
of tea-partiers is a group of people who have been struck with a feeling of pseudo-superiority and want to tell others what to do while looking down upon us. Back in my day they were the ones who took over all the clubs, sororities, church committees, parent-teacher sessions and just knew they were better than anyone else and got their names in the local newspaper every time it was published. There is nothing new about a tea-partier. Just my 2 cents.
