Do not be lulled or deceived. There is an escalating frenzy to seek out and extract more oil and gas by whatever means, and regulation and oversight has collapsed. Those trying to make a massive killing on Wall Street - and that is the whole point of Wall Street - are more and more desperate for ROI as the resources run out and as workers have been squeezed as much as they can be. This is pressuring corporations to take more and more risks, cut more and more corners, break more and more rules. That, combined with the total corruption of the public infrastructure by corporate money and influence, is creating an extremely dangerous situation and it is getting worse every day. All of us are in great and immediate danger.
