Just returned from S. Africa
Have NEVER been so happy to set foot on US soil before in my life. Capetown is lovely but venture north and was exposed to one white supremest after another and witnessed so much hate despite the excitement of the blacks re world cup. So much for "Envictus" "It's THEIR sport" Only satisfying moment was witnessing white jackhole (you can spot them just from their arrogant walk) march up to elated black blowing his obnoxiously loud horn (but it was their national day to celebrate day before opening) to scream at him only to be given the finger. It's only been 15 years since apartheid and frightening to see things haven't changed much. Worse is young whites empathazing re the murder of white supremist leader who had 5000 nazi shirts at his funeral to me. And the distortion re Obama outflanks Fox News. Thank goodness they still love Clinton as I diplomatically answered anti-Obama rhetoric saying Hillary was his top advisor and that immediately brought "Oh that's good then!" There are a few like one gentleman who told me he prefers a black president any day to apartheid as was fined if not at church by 8 am on Sundays and loves belng able to read any book he wants for the last 15 years. Meanwhile am caught up with World Cup for first time and rooting for S. Africa.
