Axelrod Questions Legitimacy of SC Candidate
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/06/13/us/politics/AP-US-US-Senate-SC-White-House.html?ref=aponline

A senior adviser to President Barack Obama says the Democratic nominee for the Senate in South Carolina doesn't appear to be a legitimate candidate.

South Carolina Democrats chose a political unknown, 32-year-old Alvin Greene, to run against Republican Sen. Jim DeMint this fall.

Greene is an unemployed military veteran who hardly campaigned for the office, and his victory last Tuesday has raised questions about who backed his candidacy.

(snip)
Obama adviser David Axelrod says South Carolina Democrats deserve a strong, credible candidate. He says it's a big mystery how Greene won.

1. What I don't understand is why we knew nothing about him until AFTER he was

'elected'. I don't recall hearing his name at all. Anyone? This is so bizarre, and I am glad it is being investigated. I've seen his interview with Keith Olbermann, and Green appears to know very little, if anything, about politics or his candidacy. He appeared a bit 'mentally challenged' to me. I'm sorry for saying this, it could just have been "nervous jitters" on his part, coming on Countdown for the first time.

or a computer; goes to the library for that. Heard on m$nbc. So just how did he do so much networking?

3. He showed up and filed to get his name added to a ballot.
I don't think anyone expected he was actually going to be nominated because other than adding his name to the ballot he barely did anything else. By the way, I think even if he were convicted of a felony, he would still be eligible, because a felony conviction doesn't preclude someone from being a US senator.

4. He also did a trainwreck interview on CNN yesterday...
It was by phone but the guy can't put two sentences together. It's also been reported that he doesn't even have his own place (lives with his Dad).

Something's very fishy here.

5. He's at least as qualified as
Tom Coburn MD or Jeff Sessions or Jim DeMint or Jim Inhofe or Toomey or Santorum.

6. The bigger picture here is,
how the votes were counted.
