Poll question: Rate Obama's Presidency To Date.
I'm curious how this will turn out with fewer categories.

4. If he were a Republican, I'd say he wasn't quite as bad as I'd expected.
He's not a Republican, however.

5. Rec....A solid Meh...not really failing, certainly not passing - GOP in a good suit.
Edited on Fri Jun-11-10 10:25 AM by old mark
Bad
A real let-down, bad on civil rights, bad on party unity, against unions and working people, totally against the left, sucking up to the GOP at every chance.

Good
Good speaker and did unify the party for a few months-he is smart, looks good and does not seem to be fucking anyone other than his wife. Europe seems to like him, and the GOP really hates them, so that's a plus.

Don't think I will vote for him again in '12 if there is any other Democrat in sight.

7. I had to give him a Meh.
If he hadn't come into office and surrounded himself with a bunch of corporate toads...

If he hadn't continued to cover up the crimes of Bushco, in an attempt to "move forward"...

If he had given us the transparency he promised during the campaign...

If he had stood up for the public option in health care reform from the very beginning...

If he hadn't wasted much of the first year trying to be "bipartisan" (he should have known after a month or two that the GOP wasn't going to play ball with him...

If he'd made DADT more of a priority...

Then I'd give him a pass rating. He's not a failure by any means, he just hasn't really done everything he said he would, and I find the lack of investigation into the many abuses of the Bush years to be criminal.

8. Fail.
Two wars with the option on expansion.
Government spying on the rise.
Justice department siding with Rove and Cheney.
Welfare for Wall Street.
No New Deal.
Pentagon Prioritized.
Social Security Privatized.

There's more. I'd be remiss, however not to mention:

I still support Obama.
He is infinitely better than Bush.
If he's the nominee, I'll vote for him in 2012.

The thing is, I just want to see him get his stuff together:
Hope and Change require more than talk.
He needs all of us with him.
He also needs to get on the stick.

10. Big fat Meh.
Pretty unimpressed. Outright hostile to many of his actions (Salazar, HC "reform", overturing OSD ban among others).

I may be looking at a write-in candidate in 2012.
