We would be at war with Chavez right now. Instead of trying to make Chavez the bad guy, we should be trying to improve our ties with all of the S. American socialist heads of state. They seem to be able to accomplish what we couldn't after years of puppet wars and destabilization efforts. Of course, we never saw a head of state who was "for the people" that we didn't like.

3. You are on a progressive site. Anti-liberal opinions are welcome but using RW terms or
talking points will find your message lost in the haze or ignored.

5. Does CITGO drill near US shores?
Could a well offshore in Venezuela damage the US coastline? I'm not an expert on ocean currents, so I really don't know.

I enjoy hypotheticals, but they have to have a snowball's chance in hell of actually occurring in order to be entertained.

7. CITGO has a much better safety record than BP
But even if a CITGO accident like this happened away from our coasts, we would be declaring war on them for messing up any coast line.
