"There's the road sign up ahead. Your next stop: The Twilight Zone!"
Every day seems to bring another surreal example of "down the rabbit hole" government.

This morning, I watched John Roberts and a camera crew travel to Grand Isle, Louisianna to film some of the oil-soaked birds being taken to a triage facility there. They had been authorized to film the birds by the US Fish and Wildlive Service.

When they arrived, however, they were not permitted to film any of the birds or interview any of the workers. BP refused to allow it.

US government says OK. BP overrules the US government.

Game. Set. Match.

Questions?

1. It's a full on cover up.
If the public knew what was really happening to our oceans and sea life there would be riots from coast to coast.

2. I think that most of the public would only riot
if you took away their cable.

3. How the fuck can this happen?
What force can BP apply to prevent the press from going where they want?

7. Supposedly, since BP is paying for the bird rescue facility, they claim the right to not only
prohibit access by the media, but they also, we were told, require the workers to sign contracts which prohibit them ftom talking to the media about their work.

Even the portable cages or "carriers" in which birds were being transported into the facility were shrouded with flaps of paper so the birds inside would not be visible to the press.

I wonder what they'd do if, say three or four hundred concerned animal lovers showed up and INSISTED on viewing and photographing the oil-soaked pelicans and gulls and terns?

8. The concerned animal lovers are probably already in the facility.
I bet we'll see some horrific cell phone vids in a few months.
