Payback for Y2K Election? All states effected by oil spill voted for Bush
Except for maybe Florida where they cheated big time to give the elctoral votes to Bush. The result of them giving Bush & Cheney the White House is now lapping their shores. The Cheney Energy policy changes based on his secret meetings in 2001 led to the weakening of the drilling rules! Now that baby has come home to roost!

10. There's no more reason to believe in karma
than there is to believe Pat Robertson's contention that Haiti deserved the earthquake.

13. Do not put karma and Pat Robertson in the same sentence
Robertson is a bigoted, homophobic, hateful, ignorant, old man.

Karma is just energy.

14. I lump them together
because fundie Christianity and karma are equally unprovable religious beliefs. They both salve the minds of the believers when injustice is encountered in the world.

It is the same thing to believe that some deity from a dusty old book, and some unmeasurable 'energy' will make things right in the end.

17. I wrote you a follow up to your other post
My thoughts on energy differ greatly from fundie thoughts. To explain my beliefs in energy would take too long and it is just my belief.

18. Exactly
It is just your belief. And I'm glad that you issued your retraction below, it's not the universe coming back to bite the innocent on the ass. It's just "shit happens", especially when foolhardy, careless people do things that make shit.

16. That was rude of me
I was not thinking about the ones that did not vote for bush.

I am just so tired of hearing about corrupt corporations, corrupt politicians, religious people trying to control others, the weaken school systems, corrupt bankers and corrupt wall street. It just seems that the only way to wake some people up is to have their lives turned upside down so they can see. No one deserves what is happening to them in the Gulf coast, but neither do we deserve what is happening to the rest of the country either.

2. It's too bad Jerry Fallwell's not around to offer his opinion on this.
I mean, he'd surely acknowledge this is God's will. :sarcasm:

3. States don't vote
People vote. And even in very red states, 40% of them voted Democratic.

5. There needs to be some kind of challenge issued before this
is all over, to find even one teabagger that refuses government money. I'm assuming the cleanup and recovery will be at taxpayer expense. I'll believe BP pays for it when I see it.

7. and the birds, the dolphins, the manatee, fish, turtles, marshes, crabs, shrimp, coral....
who did they vote for? Do they deserve to die because some assholes voted for Bush?

Do they deserve to die because Obama left BP in charge...and turned away help from the Dutch and others when it could have been in time?
