How Does DU Square this Oil Spill Dilema
Edited on Wed Jun-09-10 01:11 PM by tranche
One one hand we have those convinced this thing could have been pinched off within days after the disaster; and all oil spilled contained and cleaned up with only a massive and coordinated government effort. While on the other hand we have those making the case that drilling at over 5000 foot depths is just too dangerous and should be done away with completely.

How can we argue that this epic disaster should have been stopped, contained, and cleaned up with only better coordination and effort if we at the same time would advocate that this type of extreme deep sea drilling is too dangerous and unpredictable to continue?

1. The idea that this could have been 'pinched off' is laughable.

3. I don't know much about what could have been done when the pipe started gushing,
but I am an opponent of offshore drilling.

I hope President Obama truly regrets his endorsement.

5. people have different opinions.
Some are wrong.

There is no requirement for them to square.

There is no central authority dictating our opinions to us. Some people's opinions may not be compatible with other people's opinions. That's how it works...
