Do Some of You Truly Not Understand the Difference Between Racism and Distrusting the Police?
I find it hard to believe that in this day and age there is still enough ignorance and blind obedience to self-proclaimed authority that people could actually be stupid enough to believe the two are equivalent.

Astonishing and sad.

1. The police are the only union laborers that DU doesn't support

Distrust is one thing but the label PIGs on DU and blind hatred of a group of workers in mass is something else

3. Excellent point.
Every time a thread starts about some cop somewhere who does something undeniably stupid or criminal, a whole chorus pops up to condemn the profession as purely corrupt from one end to the other.

Similar derision is seldom heaped up auto workers or teachers; apparently a few bad apples in either of those barrels are okay. But not for police.

(I'll disclaim, however, that I have seen a great many threads here attacking teachers over the years...)

4. Maybe thats the cops own fault because of the way everyone that has ever dealt with cops
have had really bad experiences. Cops tend to treat everyone as guilty suspects as a rule and to make matters worse are the bad cops who see themselves as The Law, instead of public servants who are there to protect the people who pay their wages. Even the nice cops can and do twist anything you say to use against you if they decide they want to mess with you.

5. Anybody that wants to be a cop probably shouldn't.
If you aren't a prick when you start the job will turn you into one.
