ABC/WaPo Poll: Voters down on GOP, Tea Party
Only about 30 percent of Americans say they are inclined to re-elect their member of Congress and 60 percent are ready to "look around" for alternatives, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.

But the finding of voter dissatisfaction does not automatically translate to glad tidings of great joy for the Republicans. As well, the survey showed an increasingly negative view of the Tea Party movement.

Asked which party they trust to cope with the country's main problems, voters opted for the Democrats by a 44-32 margin, with nearly 20 percent saying they trust neither party.

Sixty percent of those surveyed voiced dissatisfaction with policies offered by Republicans in Congress, while only 38 percent had favorable opinions.

If the election were held today, the poll found, 47 percent would vote for Democratic candidates and 44 percent for Republicans. (A Gallup Poll last week put Republicans in the lead.)

9. Gallup's Poll THIS Week . . .

Has it tied, just as it was before their obvious outlier last week. But don't expect any headlines about that.

6. A few months ago there was a poll in which 2/3 had never heard of the teabaggers or ....
had a negative opinion of them

all that free publicity and still no one likes them.

8. I am talking more about the generic ticket
and Obamas numbers which had reached their low point. I credit the teabaggers for helping to turn it around a little.

7. "Tea Party" = white right-wing of Republican Party.
As people become aware of this, they dislike it. It's an excellent means at base mobilization, but does nothing for changing the ideological landscape.

If your expecting a '94 repeat, then you are in denial, because people are not stupid to give the GOP back control.
