My guess is that you can at least double that amount for a more accurate figure.

1. and remember that the Exxon Valdez spilled about 11 mil gallons
so we are somewhere between 5 and 10 Valdez'es right now with no end in sight. At least the tanker's capacity was known. No one knows how much oil will "spill" here

2. Right
And that spill was on the surface.

This is not a 'spill' it is more like a backed up sewer pipe spewing into our water supply.

Most of the oil is underwater, mixing it up. Exxon Valdez floated on the surface. Deep Water Horizon is oil in the deep water below the horizon.

The dispersant is working rather well to keep the oil from being seen with the naked eye.

3. Just got back from Mobile Bay two weeks ago, and will be heading back in a week or so
as a Marine Endangered Species Observer....

This thing is going to be found out to be WAY WORSE than anyone on tv is willing to acknowledge. There will be towns and communities that will be uninhabitable for years. The Gulf is pretty much dead now and the oil is on the move, threatening to destroy beaches and eco-systems wherever it goes.

4. But I've been told...
oil is natural and will biodegrade? This happens all the time.

Who am I too believe?

6. So sorry
My hotel and fishing fleet on the Gulf Coast have all my money tied up.
I am sure that in just a few years, as I have been promised, all the oil will be gone and I can start fishing and renting rooms again. Get back to me then, K?
