CHICAGO (AP) ― Testimony is set to resume in the trial of a former Chicago police official accused of lying about the torture of suspects in the 1970s and 1980s.

Former police Lt. Jon Burge has pleaded not guilty to perjury and obstruction of justice charges. snip

The government has been calling men who say they were shocked, suffocated and beaten by Burge and his officers. Some of the men's defense attorneys have also testified.

These were white cops torturing confessions out of innocent black men. We discovered that 13 of 25 men who were on the Illinois Death Row were factually innocent. Not innocent due to some technicality. Proven innocent of the crimes they confessed to.

Consider that when sitting on the your next jury.

I would say that a large percent of the people on our police forces should not even be considered for the job.
