what happened to spillcam?
I just took a look at globalwarming.house.gov/spillcam, and where the picture should be, I just see a pattern of 8 vertical colored bars.

1. It went to bed? Yep, I just noticed the same. I've been watching it from the BP site.

4. It might be dispersant, but I'm not sure and not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
I haven't been following the dispersant issue, just the repairs.

6. the color
It seems the color has changed. Oil before was pretty well black thru and thru.

Now it appears to be reddish. Dispersants causing the change?

7. I don't think it's the dispersants. The color has been lighter lately, not sure why.
I've read that more natural gas in the mix lightens it.

But the dispersant is added in several feet from where the plume is coming out.

9. That could of been caused by the 'lighting' angles .... maybe ...
they are using down there ..... but this straw ....... shooting some white substance into the oil really disturbs me ... toxic disburants ???? Before it gets to shore ???? No words ....

10. It seems to almost have a flame at the end. At one time I had wondered if it
were burning off gases.

11. It is pretty bright ..... but heard it would be very hard to ....
light any torch device down there because of the lack of oxygen at that depth. Some techs were saying to use an acetylene torch device to cut the riser ...... wouldn't work.

12. The oxygen plus the acetylene wouldn't work? That's how they weld/cut underwater -
don't know about those pressures though. That could burn off gas maybe. Now I'm really curious what it is...

13. They used an oxy-acetylene torch earlier today to cut the diamond saw wire.
They use cutting torches under water regularly.
