Carville on with Blitzer, just told how he went to a restaurant and saw Thad Allen
and Tony Hayward dining together. He was invited to join them. Polite conversation until Hayward said "you've said some harsh things about BP, what can we do to prove we're doing the right thing?"

Carville said he was distrustful because all the reports we receive from BP are erroneous, etc.

Hayward said let's have dinner in a year and you can see that we're sincere.

:eyes:

Not gonna happen. They're continuing to be duplicitous and trying to keep the extent of the damage from being found out. I only think that it will get to be too big for them to try to hide any more.

About Obama's reactions - or lack thereof that Carville was loudly complaining about - he said things have gotten better since Obama's visit, and that sometimes the "baddest guy is the one sitting quietly at the end of the bar".

That's all, just thought I'd relay the story.

1. Interesting story.
Thanks for sharing it.

Yeah, they're being duplicitous. Big time too. No one can be as clueless as Hayward.

5. Thad Allen and Tony Hayward dine together now?
What the fuck?

6. Not necessarily. That could be the only time during the day they can get together
and discuss the situation. If they were really in cahoots, they'd have ordered room service.

8. Certainly, so that Thad can claim in his news conferences that the flow of oil has stopped
Baghdad Bob needs to get his material from some place!

9. Have you noticed that Allen uses " we" phrases a lot when referring to what is being done.?
" We are going to try to stop the spill by....." etc.

11. Yeah, I almost view him as naive. But I think if they were plotting, they wouldn't
be out in public together in such an environment.

13. Yes, and I don't trust him, he's retiring so I'm not sure
he cares about the appearances of being to cozy with BP.

12. Smeagol sounded like he was ass kissing Hayward.
He was more respectful to that fucker than he was to President Obama in all this fracas.
Hope a gator takes Carville out for lunch, asshole he is.

14. He seems to have mellowed on Obama. What surprised me is that the conversation
began with pleasantries. I don't know if I could have kept from flying across the table with a steak knife.
