What is the "Constitution party" and who do we know from it?
My nephew and I are debating and while he touts the bush/McLame/Palin talking points, he claims to vote the "constitution party?

In Red State Hell, I have never even heard of anyone on the ballot?

1. They're more right-wing, back to the good-old-days reactionary jackasses...

...It's for people who find Rove and Cheney just a little too warm and fuzzy. Basically, put the Randroids and the Fundies in a blender and you get the so-called Constitution Party.

2. Very very Right wing
I remember the name mostly from the discussions of 2004. There were unusual voting patterns where their candidate got votes in inner city areas in OH. This happened when there were 2 or more co-located precincts. In Iowa, every precinct listed the candidates in different order. He got votes when another of the precincts had Kerry in that slot.

Here is their web site - http://www.constitutionparty.com/

4. You'll find a good bit of support for them here. From those who want politicians auditing the Fed
to those who want the US to get out of all international trade treaties.

5. I believe
the only person anybody may have heard of from the CP would be Alan Keyes and that would have been in the past few elections.

I know many who vote or used to vote CP and I would guess you're nephew votes them because he wants the govt to adhere to the Constitution as it was written by the founders. What he probably doesn't know is that they seem to be trending more religious, but, then again maybe he is aware of that and was drawn to them that way.
It's hard to argue against what the Constitution actually says, but if he isn't religious, you may be able to score a few points with that.

12. he is off the wall. Railing against public education and socialism
wants Obama impeached (he doesn't even know why)

says all forms of socialism should be outlawed

His view is ...medicare, medicade, social security ect...

doesn't matter that his dad (even worse and more stupid) is only getting diabetes care because he is using Vet hospitals and doctors

His mother is collecting unemployment and has had 2 extentions

this kid is IGNORANT. If he were not related I would really let him have it, but since he is my nephew, I have just ended the debate.
