Anyone else dislike Google's redesign of its news homepage?

I really dislike this new format.

I found the old one clean, functional and easy to use.

Although they have options to customize, I don't like the narrowing that generally occurs by doing that.

I did find a page taking input and opinion seems t be heavily against the new design.

Maybe if they hear enough, they might return to the old, functional design.

It's pretty much the same basic design I've always used. A while back they added a sorta "tool bar" across the top. Other than that....

5. I just noticed it today

Maybe it's getting phased in across browsers or systems or something.

It now has only a very small section of stories (Top stories) formatted the previous way, with headline and a brief synopsis.
The rest just have headlines with a bit of a mishmash of items.

Really preferred the other format.

6. Here's a suggestion - from one of the users how to return to the old page..

To get the old page back...Log out of everything and I mean everything google. Clear your history, cache, and cookies. Restart your browser and you should be good to go. I got my old page back and it maintained even after I logged back into my google account...we'll see if it holds.

Its too washed out, not enough contrast.

The news page doesnt seem as bad.

19. In the early days of the web, I stole snippets of code from

source. That's how I learned HTML. The page I linked might not work for other browsers, but it works for me and that's why I wasn't too concerned with W3C standards.
