Gov. Haley Barbour has just announced the White House, BP and BP’s contractors agree that more vessels are needed in Mississippi to protect its shoreline.

Only four vessels were in the area where a swath of oil has come ashore at Petit Bois Island south of Pascagoula, Barbour said in a noon press conference.
