Dying, dead marine wildlife paint dark, morbid picture of Gulf Coast following oil spill

Here's what President Obama didn't see when he visited the Gulf Coast: a dead dolphin rotting in the shore weeds.

"When we found this dolphin it was filled with oil. Oil was just pouring out of it. It was the saddest darn thing to look at," said a BP contract worker who took the Daily News on a surreptitious tour of the wildlife disaster unfolding in Louisiana.

His motive: simple outrage.

"There is a lot of coverup for BP. They specifically informed us that they don't want these pictures of the dead animals. They know the ocean will wipe away most of the evidence. It's important to me that people know the truth about what's going on here," the contractor said.

1. Fire up the grill!
No need to bring your own charcoal... the dead animals cook themselves once you ignite them.

3. this is why offshore drilling should not be allowed to continue
six months is no time frame to come up with solutions that they couldn't come up with for 30 years to prevent this

Thanks Mari.

Much as I hate seeing and reading this, it beats all the people who think the submarines are cool.

This is what is real.

6. The gift that keeps on giving....

...and after the initial carnage rots or is washed away the fall migration of neotropical songbirds begins. Many of these birds use the rich marshlands of the Gulf Coast as a fueling stage before the jump across the big water. But their fuel will not be there, those marshes moribund. Many will drop into the sea, exhausted. The survivors will face the same dilemma upon return to the Gulf shore in the spring, exhausted but little to no food. Next year spring will be more silent.

9. I hope there are MORE heroes like this!!!
Edited on Wed Jun-02-10 09:33 AM by CoffeeCat
OMG...this contract worker, who is employed by BP--is giving BP the finger
and revealing what is really going on. BP doesn't want pictures of the animals.
They are trying to cover up.

Oh really?

I hope many, many more heroes like this infiltrate BP and refused to lie to the
American people.

I salute this hero who refused to kow tow to this disgusting, dishonest, greedy
company that deserves to fall off the face of the earth and never be heard from
again.
