Everything Sarah Palin touches turns to shit
Edited on Wed Jun-02-10 01:30 AM by Tx4obama
As time goes by it seems more and more that Sarah Palin is cursed and is the 'kiss of death'.

1) Palin was on the ticket with McCain - and McCain lost.
2) Palin endorsed Hoffman - and Hoffman lost.
3) Palin endorsed Emmer - and Emmer lost.
4) Palin endorsed Nikki-Haley - and now we have the news of an alleged Haley-Folks affair.
5) Palin's most famous phrase was 'Drill Baby Drill' - and now look at what has happened to our beautiful Gulf Coast.

I know there are more 'kiss of death' endorsements made by Palin but I can't think of them off the top of my head at the moment. I am just hoping that her endorsement of Texas Gov. Rick Perry will be added to the above list in November ;)

Feel free to add to the list in the comments below ;)

Edited to add:
Also, Palin put a curse on the Flyers (hockey team) when she dropped the puck at the game - they lost several games afterwards.

Excerpt from http://www.mahalo.com/palin-hockey-curse
Palin Hockey Curse
Some blogs and articles hinted that Sarah Palin brought bad luck to hockey games after she was invited to drop the puck at a few games in October 2008. The games included one between St. Louis Blues and Los Angeles Kings, where the goalie of Blues, Manny Legace, injured his hip, and three games for the Philadelphia Flyers, which they lost.

5. That can be a false paradigm.
That concept is many times used to paint a good person as bad.

Seen that before.

Without commenting on Palin, there is an effect that tries to make people around someone look bad, but done by free will choices of people for other reasons. So it is bad to think in the ideas of the concept you mention without being about to attach a reason for it based on peoples perceptions of what the people think and feel about things.

8. Seriously, it is a group effect like all bite the dog bitten.
Edited on Wed Jun-02-10 01:55 AM by RandomThoughts
If someone is considered to be in a certain group, by another group, some people will try to make them bad and keep people from supporting them by going after people around them.

However if you are standing for some value that is correct, and some group does not like it, then supporting, or being supported by other people includes having to stand up to that stuff.

But that is the concept of how people do those things, they pile on a person if they feel they are not part of their group, and one of the ways to do that is to go after people around them. So you have to look, is what is said true, in perspective, and not targeted justice. So that you do not just think a person being treated bad is bad, but you think based on the persons thoughts and feelings.

I am not saying that is the case in the Palin example, it could also be that people do not agree with what they hear the ideology is from a group, but the idea mentioned in the OP is used by people for reasons of control also.

A reason to not put your trust in people first in my view, but also a point that if you are going to make a difference standing for some values requires taking some difficult situations. And if you are correct, sometimes you can get some help.

What is mentioned in the OP is part of the concept of isolating people.

So my point is that concept can make you follow bad ideas if you think in those terms, since it is done in secret by some groups to try and make things look like some person is cursed, when it is free will choices of some group trying to make it look that way.

It also can be like the gar flies, where people try and get a person to show they stand up for something, then attack them, and try to go after people one at a time. So you have to decide, do you want to hide, or stand for what you believe, knowing some people by free will, will be disingenuous in comment about the actions you think are best. (note that Gar is a concept with an elite filter and is a bit off, but shows how some think that like concepts of secrecy)

The media Criticism of some politicians follows that same pattern sometimes also.

20. How do you write such long posts that I can't understand?
I read them and when I'm done my head has no new ideas, only "Wait, what now?" So I read them again, with the same result. Is this the way you actually think? How do you get anything done or convey any meaningful thoughts to others?

26. It is hard to explain,
I can say I understand what you are talking about, I have read some old texts and they had the same effect, really had to focus to be able to see what they said. It is also possible it is not needed for you to read or see what it says, or maybe something is blocking you from seeing it. Or maybe something is blocking me from being more clear in expressing thoughts.

There are many possibilities on that, but I understand about that, and it is not a new thing or anything.

I also have to trust that if it is meant for me to convey a thought then it will be conveyed in some way to someone.

The thought in that post is this.

Don't make claims that someone might be cursed, by some correlation of events, that could also be done by people to make a situation look like a person is cursed, done by people sometimes to keep you from hearing what they think and feel. Look at what the person thinks and feels to decide if you agree with them.

I also sometimes say things that require knowing some other things, you have to have the primer of information to understand the context. And sometimes I say things to help myself think on topics, with the thought that they might give someone else something to think about.

14. I have
a young teenage daughter who is famous for blurting out random thoughts, but has come to recognize how awkward and out of place her comments can be.

She takes a lot of teasing for it from the family (and even from her friends), but is a sweetie and a good sport about it, and is growing out of it as she matures.

I guess the point is, she's a kid...

17. Heh, that is funny also.
Kid is baby goat, and used many times for a comment of judgement by people of some beliefs.

On the other parts, the thoughts might seem random, but really they are not.

And they are actually relevant, but people don't think about the topic.

What the OP mentioned is a way to control society by misperception of spiritual or smear like categorization.

What I mentioned was that the OP is a way to tarnish reputation to limit a point of view, and it is used against society by many groups.

27. The comment of 'not helping'.
Needs a direction, who is it suppose to help?

Who or in what way is it not helping, and is your intent the same as mine? Could you explain what you think I am trying to help, and what you think should be helped?

6. Everybody loses except Palin.
She's cashing in bigtime on her newfound notoriety.

Reminds me of Junior. He rode companies into the ground, then did the same with our country. But he's doing just fine.

10. She also endorsed Republican candidate Vaughn Ward in Idaho's primary, and he lost.
She came here to Boise, held a big rally for him and everything, but even she couldn't save Ward from his own gaffes, such as plagiarizing an Obama speech as his own. Idiots.

Palin has a tweet on her Twitter - about 10 hours ago via web:

" Mississippi-please vote! My family&I are rooting for Angela McGlowan;race may go to a run-off election, but hopefully Angela wraps it up today "

Well, McGlowan got only 15.4% of the vote!
Nunnelee won with 51.8% of the vote!

There ya go! Another 'kiss of death' from Palin! I'm lovin' it!

15. This is a question of cause and effect . . .
Palin's connection to these failed campaigns can mean one of three things:

1) These are just four people she endorsed who lost (are there some who won that aren't on this list?). We have to be careful about selection bias (and remember that correlation does not imply causation).

2) She has a political tin ear -- meaning that she has a tendency to endorse crummy candidates. This wouldn't surprise me, since I believe she thinks of herself as a "king-maker" and is therefore trying to help the underdog candidates win (I would imagine that these are also the more extreme ideological candidates as well). The sad thing is that it will only takes a couple of wins for her to claim the title with her base!

3) Her endorsement really is toxic. It could very well be that the average voter finds her to be repugnant and therefore is turned off by her endorsements. If that's the case, we should start a Palin for Perry drive!
