BP has opened up the BOP (Ugly stuff)

I hope they get this dome in place quickly. Yes, they will be collecting the oil, but for now it is free-flowing into the Gulf.

Which means it's probably now gushing at the rate of 45,000 barrels per day until they get the cap in place.

4. Not yet it isn't. The 20% doesn't kick in until the riser pipe is cut loose. And once it

is, they will immediately move the cap into place and lower it onto the cut off pipe.

Several sources are reporting it severed from the riser.

8. All they've done is cut away most of the riser pipe that was lying

over onto the sea floor. They still have to cut the remaining riser pipe from the top of BOP.
