We should require every Congress critter to work one day each quarter beside a person in his / her
district that would be representative of the type job/pay scale/benefits that would be the average in that district. All too often, the mostly-millionaire class gets up on their high horse and talks without saying much - but then votes on things impacting the rest of us without a clue as to how so many Americans really live. And a full day, not some 10 minute photoshoot for the newsletter

I'm sure that for a few it wouldn't make the least bit of difference - but for many it might remind them of their roots and who they promised to be looking out for when we sent them to Washington. It seems that one of the most critical things we've lost in this country in my lifetime is the ability to look at things from anyone else's perspective

1. Make them work for $8 an hour and take away their health and pension plans
Tell them from now on they only get the same pay, benefits and opportunities as their constituents.

2. I thought about this too but...
doubt it would work overall because the thugs would have their privileges dropped or snuck in, in some kind of way! Can you just see 'Orange Man' doing some down and dirty work, eating a bologna sandwich, etc... Naw, never happen, though it should!

5. Would probably have to be a Constitutional amendment as they'd never self impose
it

3. Absofrickenlutely!
I think we should take away their healthcare and temp them out 1 week a month-and their staffs-their hordes and hordes of neophytes on our dime. Have them pick strawberries when the crops are in. I'm exhausted with these high price call girls/boys selling themselves to the highest corporate bidder. And we're paying for the 'public' condom ie" protection from responsibility for their actions. No more.

4. Forgetting any wealth brought with them, the first Congressional paycheck
puts that person in the top 10th percentile.
