Put all the local fisherman and others affected to work NOW!
All fisherman should be out working on cleanup if they want to (with proper safety masks etc...). They should be guaranteed premium scale and be able to get all the overtime they want. All this over and above any settlements they have been given and will receive. This will likely takes years and cost BP tons more, so be it (the least that BP can do). They are actually turning away fisherman that WANT to help right now, WHY?

1. No, BP is already doing the cheapest, crappiest job it can.
If you want something else, it ain't gonna be from BP.

2. If they are anything like Maryland watermen. They won't do any other job.
Not as long as there is a single critter in water somewhere on this planet. They don't even care if it's the last one of it's kind. They're gonna catch it an sell it.

3. Why? Because it's a total cluster-fuck.
There's nobody there that has the smarts to co-ordinate the massive multi-agency effort required to mitigate the damages.

It's pretty fucking obvious that the government response is still underwhelming, regardless of the spin the administration is attempting to put on it. It's also obvious that BP is calling the shots. This Thad (Brownie) Allen dude is a joke.

Sad, but true.

Cue the crap about how I'm an Obama hater. :eyes:
