...how many more soldiers are going to die? How much body armor for the soldiers could the money that this ridiculous display of decadence and avarice buy?

What kind of a message does it send the world that these bastards can send other peoples children off to die thousands of miles from home yet put on the type of feast and display of shameless excess that would make Nero give us a lecture on subtlety?

I don't know if any Dems were invited, but if any actually showed up there, instead of protesting this insanity by telling them to stuff their fucking invitation where the sun doesn't shine, I think there needs to be a few letters written to our reps.

Just needed to get that off my chest...

2. Pelosi accepted, Reid declined
According to this article from TheHill.com:

House Democratic leaders delayed their weekly meeting until today because of the State Dinner at the White House in honor of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Pelosi had accepted an invitation for last night’s State Dinner (House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) also planned to attend the dinner; Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) declined).
