12. My husband and I were just talking about this. We both said at the
same time that it's as if Earth is "hurting spiritually."

My husband doesn't usually say things like that either.

32. if you look at it in terms of geological time
the earth can take care of itself.

the earth is incapable of emotions. humanity is a blip in time. the earth was here before us, it will be here long after we are gone. up until the sun blows up.

I was born in 1979 and all I have ever heard from govt and media is how cool greed is, how great of an asset greed is for our country and how everything must be run for corporate profit.... did mainstream media and the govt lie to me????

BP Oil Platform Spill Disaster is CHENEY'S Fault UPDATED

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/4/30/862414/-BP-Oil-Platform-Spill-Disaster-is-CHENEYS-Fault-UPDATED

Mike Papantonio, an environmental lawyer on the Ed Show just now: An 'acoustic switch' would have prevented this catastrophe - it's a failsafe that shuts the flow of oil off at the source - they cost only about half a million dollars each, and are required in off-shore drilling platforms in most of the world...except for the United States. This was one of the new deregulations devised by Dick Cheney during his secret meetings with the oil industry at the beginning of Bush's first term.

21. And again, Obama "looks forward", does nothing to change it, and disaster ensues.
He is aiding criminals by "looking forward" past W and Cheney's negligence, especially when it comes to regulatory agencies.

Anybody feel safe eating anything in this country knowing Obama is "looking forward" on the FDA? Etc.

34. I appreciate that, reggie...
... and I don't think it means you have to be angry or threatening. I chose that moment to pass along what amounts to as Mike Papintonio's rant, which is in agreement with the statement made by the Shell Oil executive. Basically, get the 24 super-tankers that are capable of emptying their current payload, then taking off the awful stuff mixed into the sea. There already is evidence to base the wisdom of doing this, which is what the Shell Oil exec was saying. It worked in 94 when super tankers sucked about 85% of the blow out caused by Russia in the Saudi Arabian bay.

All we should be saying is give this a chance!

19. Yes, we all hate this fucking gushing liquid death deep in the GOM.
Edited on Tue May-25-10 10:46 PM by Urban Prairie
If this turns into an extinction level event within a couple of years or so, it obviously won't be quick and relatively painless for many, if not most of us, unless suicide becomes a much more preferable and faster option, like the tower jumpers decided to do on 9/11.

Can't imagine being Hayward or any other culpable BP employee, I would just as soon want to off myself from constantly feeling the pressure, stress, and the guilt, but that is just me and obviously not them.

27. CEO's and corporate spokes people have no consciences
thats why they get their jobs. they have no empathy, no sympathy, and only "feel" arrogance, power, and they get off on hurting others sexually or financially (or both when they can)

26. you think they feel pressure, stress and guilt???
they have no conscience and probably snort a lot of cocaine so they only "feel" power, arrogance, hatred, and orgasms.... they "feel" best when they are abusing people be it sexually or economically (like when they cum in their hookers faces just to prove that she is "just a whore"..... I valet parked cars all through college and grad school at night clubs in chicago and have seen corporate execs at their "finest" or shall i say at their most natural...

30. I just don't understand!!!!
When I hear the birds sing in the morning, when I hear frogs croaking, when I see flowers blooming, I always think that I am so blessed.

Why do people not see these things, hear these things??

Why don't people see and appreciate the beauty??

Why is the goal to be RICH RICH RICH beyond our wildest dreams, while we step on others and destroy the planet in the process.

We are already RICH if we would just look around.

I don't get it. :hippie:
