Now you want a big government intervention after an oil company fucked up big time.

I wish Louisiana and the entire Gulf Coast nothing but the very best. I wish for you, "Bobby," a big, swift, kick in the ass.

7. Yeah WTF,God forbid "govmt. bureaucrats"monitor the oil industry
Hell he did as much as anybody to CAUSE this situation and now he's grandstanding about it? That's bullshit.

I'd be more impressed if one of these GOP assholes let REALITY change some of their dumbass Raygun rhetoric like "the scariest thing is "I'm the federal government and I'm here to help." BUT THEY WON'T. They'll go right back to it. This isn't going to change their "government has to get off the backs of the oil companies" bullshit not one bit.

3. there is a lot of culpablity to go around, but don't forget a month and a half ago
There was a lot push HERE at DU in support of offshore drilling.

I remember because I was swimming upstream against it.

4. This boggles the mind, this oil spill is the product of
no regulation and Drill Baby Drill. Yet the Republicans are winning the PR war again. All I see is Republicans and Democrats agreeing with them about the government inaction. The Democrats should be out there blaming the Republicans 24/7. If this happened under a Republican President the Republicans would be out defending the Administration and you can bet your ass none would be criticizing the government, remember Katrina?

9. It certainly would be nice if a reporter would point this out...
...just once!

Well we'll have to count on the Democratic politicians to do so, and they will not be able to do that until this gusher is under control. Otherwise they'll be accused of playing politics by those same reporters -- the same ones who tolerate any and all jabs sent towards the Democrats.

It is truly maddening.

15. I am a huge proponent of your body, your choice on most issues. Many others though are not
Smaller govt in my (and other adults') personal choices on health care, where to eat, etc and so on.

But am for more govt involved in other areas.

19. Seriously?
Smoking in bars. Some people believe you should have the ability to choose to go to a bar that allows smoking, or one that does not.

Others believe they need to save you and choose for you.

Some folks just like to control choices.
